Bold color wakes up the apartment in iconic Hampshire House

The apartment renovation was a complete overhaul, not only of the interior, but plumbing and electrical included. It only took four months to transform the living/dining area, kitchen and bathroom. What was once a pre-war apartment, covered in floor to ceiling mirrors, is a now a warm inviting traditional colonial style space due to the warm paint and intricate details. The design of the custom basket weave floor helps anchor the strong wall color and decor while, the trim and paneling keep the space in-between bright. The stonework in the kitchen area was hand fabricated and adds the final touch for an apartment exuding confidence.

Old craftsmanship fulfills new potential

When asked about the experience with European Elegance the homeowner had this to say, “... they have a design sense, and capability, but welcome outside creativity.  It is rare to find people who love their craft [in] this day and age. The passion is immediately reflected in the results, but also in the cleanliness of the process.”

Renovations to the breathtaking home included the bathroom, laundry room, TV room & kitchen. A teardown was part of the process and a steel I-beam was used as a support between the kitchen and TV room. Ceiling Joists were reconfigured to gain space for a pitch of the roof then, refinished with distinctive bead board ceiling work. Custom base frame shaker cabinets, fabricated Carrera marble countertops and heated slate flooring were a few of the features in the new kitchen. Custom cabinets were also built to conceal the appliances in the laundry area. Ultimately, the owner felt the project used “... the best materials and the most robust hardware and processes to deliver the finest interiors possible.”

A kitchen fit for a king 

The client wanted a contemporary kitchen with a two-tone wood effect. To support the vision, European Elegance incorporated pecan colored hardwood flooring. The in-house built white cabinetry and Turquoiseglass backsplash also helped create the cosmetic contrast to fit the design challenge. The modern makeover incorporated sleek lines throughout the kitchen and bathroom. Details such as, the neutral Valspar paint, monochromatic tiling and tan marble counters also help adhere to the modernistic style of the apartment.

Penthouse in trendy village meets high fashion

Working with a high-end designer, this one bedroom, one bathroom penthouse has all the opulence that trendsetters crave. Since the client was a designer himself, he had a vision for the updated space. European Elegance worked with the client-created sketches to ensure the end project was nothing less than extraordinary. 

Custom in-house Fabricated Corian countertops and Corian backsplash was installed in the kitchen. The heated limestone slab floor was used for its natural appearance and gives the entire kitchen an earthy feel. While, 5” quarter round rift oak hardwood planks were installed & Bona Natural sealed in the rest of the home. A textured ceiling covered in white carpet was also incorporated in the renovated penthouse. Walls painted in white continued the theme and were reinforced with fiber mesh to provide a crack resistant sealant.
